Bluebird of Sadness

My friend just told me this painting made her think of the 1941 song (There will be bluebirds over) The White Hills of Dover.  What does his say about us, about this moment in history, that our thoughts inexorably wander back to WWII?  We naively thought then, or maybe we just hoped, that eventually there would be 'love and laughter, and peace ever after'.  The only hope I feel right now is for the comfort we can give each other, the consolation of the embrace we give the ones who need it, even as we keep our eyes open, looking ahead.

In many German cities, cargo bikes are quickly becoming a favourite mode of transport: for getting small kids to school, dogs to the park, and shopping bags home.  They are fun, practical, and look cool.  If most of us rode bikes instead of cars, gyms might go out of business, but we'd surely all be quite a bit happier.  You can get a T-shirt, a laptop sleeve or maybe a water bottle with this design.  Here's a link:

...Fabulista Design. Thanks to those of you who over the past couple of years have contacted me with enquiries, I have finally set up my online shop, FabulistaDesign, through the RedBubble website.   RedBubble is a print-on-demand platform that allows artists to upload designs and make them available as art prints or displayed on stationery, T-shirts, kitchen aprons, mugs and more. The artist receives 20% for every product sold.
Just click on the FabulistaDesign button to take a look. I will be posting every Saturday to present one of my designs and tell the story behind it.  So long for now, and thank you for stopping by!

    About me:

Hi there and thank you for visiting my website. I'm an artist and a teacher who sometimes writes stories for children.  I can't tell you my favorite color as little as I could tell you my favorite place to live.   So I keep mixing it up and trying new things, and not to lose heart or head in the process. Check out my artwork, as well as my books and videos if you want to find out more.
